Thank you from the bottom of our Soft Touch HeArts! 🎉 We are still blinking with amazement at the amount raised at the Soft Touch Art Auction 2019 – an exclusive fundraising evening on 1st October!
From paintings to ball gowns, September saw the Soft Touch family showcase their artistic visions at our first Creative Enterprise Exhibition. The event allowed our fledgeling artists to engage with the general public whilst introducing the community of Leicester to the next generation of creative talent. The exhibition helped imbue a further drive within the passions of our artists – a crucial step in our mission for guided empowerment of young people with challenges in their lives.
Our participants have been developing their creative and enterprise aspirations through attending conventions, participating in creative masterclasses and taking on commissions for local businesses over the past year. The exhibition served as a means to organically articulate these experiences to a broader audience.
October 1st saw some of these artworks put up for auction in our second Fundraising Art Auction, alongside art donated by well-known artists. The event was kindly hosted by wealth management company Mattioli Woods, with food by Chutney Ivy, drinks by Burleigh’s Gin and co-organised and promoted by Mocha Marketing. Our auctioneer for the night was Dickon Dearman of Churchgate Auctions who gave his time for free to run the auction.
It was a thrilling evening with attendance from people from across the city with a passion for the arts. Over eighty guests schmoozed and mused while taking in the creative excellence of the Soft Touch family and Leicester’s tremendously altruistic community of artists before competition ensued to find each piece a new home at the highest price.
In total, we have raised £8300 which is absolutely incredible and will make a huge impact on the work we deliver!
Thank you to everyone involved in making the event happen!
