Well, what a World Food Week 2020 that was!
Celebrated by Soft Touch Arts Chef Sessions, Leicestershire artisan food fans enjoyed Online Masterclasses from some of the county’s local award winning chefs, while raising money for Soft Touch Café.
Soft Touch Business Board members Harinder Sahota and Nim Pancholi hosted each Session on Zoom with aplomb and Shaf @ Chutney Ivy opened the Chef Sessions on Monday 22nd, cooking a tempting Goan Curry with fish, paneer or aubergine.
Massimo @ Caravelli showed everyone how to prepare scratch made Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina with a tasty tomato passata on Tuesday 23rd.
Wednesday 24th saw Dawid & Kal @ 100&Six’s cooking up Dawid’s mouthwatering Harissa Roasted Aubergine with Jewelled Cous Cous, accompanied by Kal’s refreshing batchfresh Watermelon Smash.
On Friday 26th Joanna @ North Bar & Kitchen took the online audience step by step through her scrumptious Spiced Sweet Potato with Brown Chickpeas. Chicken & chorizo are additional options to this vegan dish, all served up with North 42 Blood Orange & Rhubarb Gin.
Nick & Robin @ Kimber’s Gyozas brought a taste of the Orient on Saturday 27th, with their deliciously exotic Japanese dumplings and Pratik @ Wigston Fields & Deli #NotJustACornerShop rounded off World Food Week with his fully interactive Lamb, Paneer or Aubergine Cutlets and Mustard Seed & Turmeric Mash on Sunday 28th, tantalising the tastebuds of everyone involved.
