Music Sessional Worker
I have been with Soft Touch as a sessional worker for 3-4 years now.
I am a full time musician, producer, promoter, radio presenter and sound/sonic artist/singer..
I grew up playing in bands and eventually drawn by the “mystique” of technology got a First in “Music, Technology and Innovation” BA (Hons) and an Electro-Acoustic & Diffusion Composition Masters degree (MA) from De Montfort University!
I run my own vinyl label here in Leicester (CounterAction Soundz), a regular weekly sound system culture, reggae/dub radio show on FM station DemonFM and promote club nights as well as being involved in the United Nations Of Dub Weekender festival curently in it’s 4th year.
I often travel across Europe and the world for gigs and educational workshops, always centred around music and technology. And i am involved in many other labels, sound systems and events internationally!
Soft Touch provides me with the opportunity to give back to the community i am part of.
Being able to inspire, or just show young people real life examples of diversity and of course helping them focus on the musical/artistic path that is drawing them towards ST in the first place is one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life as a musician on the road!
I enjoy working across disciplines with other Soft Touch workers and can be just as fascinated with the technical as well as the creative aspects of the work!
