From 2001 onwards
Kelly Grace, is our Arts Award co-ordinator and she delivers the award sessions and helps with tailoring the units to suit the young peoples creative interests. Allowing them to achieve good results and record their progress in a way that suits their needs.
The Arts Award has also been offered to three young people who work and volunteer at Soft Touch are currently working towards their Gold and Silver Awards: Emily our Social Media Apprentice Says “I think that doing Arts Award will be really good for me as when I finish my Apprenticeship, I will have a portfolio of the work I have done which I can then use to show to future employers. It also gives my the opportunity to enhance skills I already have, and learn new ones in the process.”
The Arts Award carries Qualification Curriculum Credits and the individual portfolios produced are really valuable to young people in showing their commitment and involvement in extra curricular activities. It also provides an alternative way for young people not achieving in mainstream education to gain a qualification.
If you have a young person that would benefit from joining our Arts Award Club please get in touch with Kelly Grace – Kelly@soft-touch.org.uk
