Cafe project
The aim of our cooking and catering work is to give young people from a variety of backgrounds experience in kitchen and customer service skills. They get to learn different catering and customer service skills in a real café environment. Taking part in the cafe helps gain skills for future employment:
- boost their confidence
- provides an opportunity to meet new people
- working together as a small team
- cash handling
- front of house skills
- serving customers and taking food orders
- awareness of healthy eating
- presentation of food and the cafe set up
- kitchen safety and regulations
- hygiene skills
- food handling and storage
- following recipes
- allergy awareness
