A weekly project that ran for 3 years to support young people in creating and selling their work.
Got an idea for a creative endeavour? But need some inspiration? Or advice on taking the next step?
Find space, materials and support at Soft Touch Arts where you can make, market and sell your work through the Creative Enterprise programme.
With thanks to funding from Cambridge & Counties Bank via Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation, we have been able to facilitate the STARS & Soft Sell Creative Enterprise projects to support budding artists and makers with selling and marketing their work.
Participants work closely with our Creative Enterprise programme coordinator as well as receiving guidance from industry professionals on a range of creative business skills. Soft Touch Arts will sell work at weekly market events and online, use their extensive network to reach out to local businesses for commissions of creative work and to provide participants with opportunities to network and find work experience. We aim to work with and help 20 young people for up to 6 months each year to help them progress. These are some of the things they get from taking part:
- Gain confidence + make money from selling work
- Sell work at markets + online
- Learn from industry professionals
- Take on commissions + work experience
