In August, Soft Touch Arts held an exhibition at Highcross Leicester in collaboration with graphic design agency, Arch Creative, and sponsored by Kaplan Financial.
Of course, this wasn’t just an ordinary exhibition!
Talented young people at Soft Touch took photographs around Leicester guided by the expert eye of professional photographer Tom Wren, who gave his time to support fresh talent. A selection of these photographs were framed and displayed in a vacant shop unit at Highcross Leicester from 5th-15th August.
Also on display were a collection of self-portraits by young people attending Soft Touch Art’s STart project and a selection of other work by young artists. A live ‘portrait wall’ provided an interactive experience for visitors who could have their photo taken and share what they love about Leicester. Young people manned the exhibition supported by an intern from the University of Leicester and Soft Touch staff. Over 1,300 people attended the exhibition over ten days!
