Soft Touch Arts is recruiting for a 12-month internship opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and confident individual with good written and verbal communication skills with an understanding of the diverse needs and backgrounds of young people in Leicester. Some experience of volunteering or working in a role which motivates young people and an interest in arts and media is desirable for this role.

Applicants must be available for a first-stage interview with Soft Touch Arts on 23rd October and if successful at that stage, a second stage interview with the internship sponsors on 3/11/20 at 2.30pm. The intern would need to be available to start in January 2021.  This is a full-time paid position (paid at the National Living Wage) for a fixed-term of 12 months.

This leadership development role is an excellent opportunity to support Soft Touch Arts in setting up a youth ambassador group which will help make a step-change in the charity’s objective of involving young people in shaping the services that they need and want. The appointed intern will need to have an interest in working with young people to understand their needs, and how the work of Soft Touch Arts can help them to progress with their lives in a positive way. We need an enthusiastic and confident individual with good organisation and communication skills who has some experience of working with young people, and a willingness to undertake further training as required. This would also suit someone who is interested in a career in youth work or supporting people and also in developing communications, event organisation and report writing and presentation skills.

Soft Touch Arts uses, arts media and music activities to create opportunity for and change the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in Leicestershire.

To apply for this opportunity please answer the three questions below in less than 100 words per question.  Please email your answers and your contact details (name, address, email and phone), plus a current CV to Kelly Grace – no later than 1pm on Tuesday 20th October 2020.   Alternatively you can send in a video clip answering the questions (answers also need to be less than 100 words per question).   We will contact you on Wednesday 21st October if you are selected for the first-stage interviews which will be held on Friday 23rd October.
