Soft Touch Arts is a leading Leicestershire youth arts charity. Since 1986 we have been creating opportunities for young people that need extra support by delivering a wide range of creative projects from our centre on New Walk, and in different neighbourhoods across the city and county. Our work helps young people to progress with their lives in a positive way.
We need an organised and motivated person with a flair for marketing and communications to join our team. We’re looking for someone with good written and verbal communication skills, good IT skills and an eye for design. Knowledge and experience of using social media and digital platforms will be key to this role. You will be working with our friendly creative team to help to raise the profile of the organisation and demonstrate the impact we have on young people’s lives.

From time to time we take on new sessional and freelance staff who bring specialist arts and music skills and support our projects with extra skills and capacity. We usually advertise when we are looking for staff but we will accept a CV with a brief covering letter to hold on our files should any suitable opportunities arise. We only take on volunteers for specific roles as we do not have the capacity to support general volunteering. Therefore, currently we can support people who want to volunteer for the following opportunities:
Individuals with cooking and catering skills to help in our Thursday lunchtime pop-up cafe and for occasional evening event catering.
A volunteer to help with basic gardening skills to help to look after our small front garden for 1-2 hours per week.
A volunteer who has good admin/database skills to help update our CRM system and keep on top of our mailing lists.
